			Rimtec couplings' unique taper lock design is ideal for precision, 
			high-performance applications 
			 
			 Rimtec Corporation introduces a series of zero-backlash bellows 
			and torque-limiting safety couplings designed specifically to meet 
			the demands of today's highly dynamic digital servo drives, spindles 
			and tools operating at speeds up to 10,000 rpm. Designed with an outside 
			conical hub, the high-performance couplings are ideal for precision 
			machine tool applications. 
			 
			 The 
			couplings provide servo-quality stiffness and low inertia for high-production 
			transfer lines; the ballscrew slides and gearboxes of robots; CNC 
			machine tools; packaging, textile and printing machines; and other 
			manufacturing applications with high rotational speeds and high-torque 
			operations. 
			 
			The unique outside taper lock is self-aligning, which enables the 
			couplings to be assembled without the concern for misalignment that 
			is common with inside tapers. The outside conical hubs automatically 
			quick-release when disassembling, resulting in highly accurate manufacturing 
			tolerances, improved bearing wear, and dramatically less machine downtime. 
			Release set screws are also available for the demands of the highest-torque 
			applications. 
			 
			The lightweight, torsionally rigid stainless steel line of  
			AK/SB metal bellows couplings accurately compensate for heat, 
			pressure and elastic deformation that commonly cause axial, radial 
			and angular misalignment. The line transmits torque from 160 in-lbs 
			(18 Nm) to 44,400 in-lbs (5,000 Nm) on shaft sizes from 3/8" (9 mm) 
			to 3.35" (85 mm). 
			 
			DMK/SB safety couplings are similar to the AK/SB line, except the 
			inside conical hub and rear flange are one part ... thus reducing 
			the possibility for misalignment. These couplings are ideal for high-speed 
			tooling, as the flange on which the gear is mounted can meet run-out 
			tolerances of up to 0.0008" (0.02 mm). The line transmits torque 
			from 90 in-lbs (10 Nm) to 14,400 in-lbs (1600 Nm) on shaft sizes from 
			1/2" (12 mm) to 3.5" (90 mm).
